Assistant Cheese Maker (no experience necessary!)
Alford, Lincolnshire
£12.00 - £13.00 per hour plus overtime (1.5X)

If so, our client, a multi award-winning artisan cheese producer, have an exciting opportunity to join their friendly cheese making team based near Alford in Lincolnshire. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
As an Assistant Cheese Maker you'll assist in the production of one of Lincolnshire’s finest and best loved cheeses under the guidance of seasoned artisans. You'll get hands-on experience in every aspect of the cheese-making process.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the cheese-making process from start to finish.
* Cleaning of machinery and equipment etc ensuring high levels of cleanliness and hygiene at all times
* Maintain strict quality control standards to ensure that every batch meets our high expectations.
* Attend farmers markets selling cheese, butter and milk from the farm.
* This is a physical job that requires manual handling of heavy ingredients and cheeses throughout the manufacturing process.
* Help in the packing intermittently.
Requirements

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Friendly, out-going personality with the ability to engage with customers at farmers markets.
No cheese making experience is required as full training will be provided. An ideal background may be in food production operations such as a Baker, Butcher, Production Operator, caterer or similar, although consideration will be given to a variety of backgrounds. The most important factor is willingness to learn and be passionate about your product.
Routine is typically 4 days per week (roughly 40 hours) with overtime at x1.5. Flexibility will be required as the rota varies and some weekend work will be required (typically 3 days/month)
