Applause IT are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a global IT Consultancy firm based in Manchester. As a DevOps Engineer you will play a vital role in contributing to client projects and open source initiatives.
The ideal candidate should possess expertise in AWS and ideally Azure and GCP as the organisation work across all 3 platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
Work closely with development teams to ensure timely project delivery and adherence to rigorous quality standards.
Develop and deploy continuous integration and delivery pipelines to streamline the software delivery process.
Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to uphold high levels of availability and reliability.
Implement and uphold stringent security measures to safeguard systems and data.
Collaborate with the team to establish and enforce best practices for infrastructure and automation tools, such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Immutable Infrastructure.
Engage in design, development, and code reviews to maintain code quality and promote team collaboration.
Keep abreast of emerging DevOps trends and technologies to continuously improve processes and tools. The ideal DevOps Engineer will have experience in:
Working with free and open source software (FOSS)
Linux, Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, Rust
Cloud Services: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
Configuration management tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet
Server templating tools: Packer, Vagrant, Docker/Podman
Orchestration tools: Kubernetes, Nomad
Provisioning tools: Terraform, Pulumi
CI/CD Systems: GitLab CI, GitHub actions
