Hourly Rate: £40

Barnsley Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practitioner to join our Child Protection team. This role involves leading and supporting social workers to deliver high-quality services to safeguard and promote the welfare of children at risk.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Support: Provide guidance and support to social workers, helping them to manage complex cases and develop their professional practice.
Case Management: Oversee a caseload of child protection cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions to safeguard children.
Supervision: Conduct regular supervision sessions with social workers, offering advice and support to ensure best practices are followed.
Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, developing and implementing robust protection plans.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with other agencies and professionals to ensure coordinated support and interventions for children and families.
Quality Assurance: Monitor and review casework to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practice standards.
Crisis Intervention: Respond to emergencies and crises, providing immediate support and developing safety plans as required.Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker: Must be a registered Social Worker with a recognized qualification.
Experience: Significant experience in child protection, with a proven track record of managing complex cases.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to support and develop less experienced social workers.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work and child protection.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
