Transport Planning Administrator 

Menzies Distribution are looking for an experienced Transport Planning Administrator to join our team at our Central Planning Centre in Normanton, Wakefield.  The purpose of this role is to support and assist in the smooth and efficient running of the operation within the planning Centre. Reporting to the Planning Centre Manager, a strong administrator with excellent inter-personal skills, keen attention to detail and a passion for system process and accurate reporting within the transport industry are critical traits required for this role. A professional and positive telephone manner is essential for this position.

Salary: £26,257.87k Per Annum / £12.62 Per Hour
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday Days
Hours: 10:00-18:00 / 40 Hours Per Week

Key Duties and Accountabilities (will include but not be limited to)

Point of contact for customer and depot delivery queries.
Ensure customer queries and issues are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
Responsibility for the cost effective and timely booking of Pallet network deliveries
Supporting planning team in administering system processes and KPI reports
Accurate maintenance of the TMS and Pallet network portals
Applying correct costs to orders put through pallet network
Maintain and expand a pro-active relationship with other sites within the network
Dealing with customer & supplier enquiries and complaints, from Investigation through to closure and where this is not possible escalating the issue to the necessary Manager.
Support and develop the process of Continuous Improvement, challenging working conditions, systems and behaviors to increase performance and employee satisfaction.
Maintain data security and integrity in line with Business needs.
Creation of departmental KPI reports
Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all aspects of the company’s H&S Policy
Key Experience and Qualifications:

Good communication skills are essential with the ability to express empathy with customers
Strong knowledge of TMS systems (ESP/GTS/Alliance/Transporeon/Microlise or similar)
Excellent written and verbal skills are essential.
Report writing and maintenance on Planning Centre activity
Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
A desire to develop financial and operational knowledge within the industry to progress within the team
Technical skills and behavioral competencies

Good spoken and written communication skills
Strong analytical and numeracy skills
Good level of financial understanding
Confident individual with the ability to think quickly on your feet and confidently make decisions and can challenge when the need arises and at the appropriate level.
Good organisational and time management skills
Good ‘people skills’ for working with a range of colleagues and customers.
A professional manner
Develop a level of trust and support with all colleagues to ensure conflict situations do not arise
