Band 3 - £12.45/hr (Weekdays), £16.80 (Saturdays) & £21.03 (Sundays) - 37.5 hours per week
Various shifts to cover - Mornings 07.00-15.00, Afternoons 12.00-21.00, Nights 21.00-07.00. Flexibility to work any of these shifts as required is essential, based on a staff rota.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking caring, diligent and professional Healthcare Security Officers to join their security team to maintain the safety and security of all staff, patients, and visitors on Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH) sites and associated premises, and to protect Trust property from loss.

Key Responsibilities:

Visible Patrols and Incident Response: Conduct foot patrols of hospital sites to ensure all property and land are secure and hazard-free. Respond to security and fire incidents, including intruder incidents, emergency calls, and alarm activations, and perform preliminary investigations.
Control Room Duties: Monitor CCTV, respond to directions from control room operators, and cover control room shifts as needed.
Access Control and Key Management: Unlock and lock departments, manage key control systems, escort accommodation users, and maintain records of digital lock codes and access control ID cards.
Staff Support and Emergency Assistance: Escort and protect staff, assist with cash handling, respond to personal and emergency alarms, and assist with air ambulance operations, mortuary duties, and other emergency tasks as required.
Equipment and Deliveries: Accept out-of-hours deliveries, assist with stores and equipment, ensure proper alarm management, and monitor the access control systems.
Contractor Liaison and Site Monitoring: Monitor contractors on site to ensure they have appropriate paperwork and provide access as necessary. Maintain close liaison with departmental heads on practical aspects of security precautions.
Security Advice and Crime Prevention: Advise staff on crime prevention and protection of property, encourage a proactive approach to security, and maintain security marking of Trust equipment.
Record Keeping and Policy Adherence: Maintain logs of all duties and incidents, train new colleagues, ensure all mandatory and job-specific training is up to date, and follow the Security Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures, and all Trust policies. Demonstrate and adhere to the Trust PROUD values.Person Requirements:

Must hold a valid SIA Guarding Licence.
Previous experience in a similar security role.
Experience dealing with the general public and handling difficult situations calmly and courteously.
Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to operate and interpret information from computerised systems.

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
