Metallurgist

Manufacturing Futures are recruiting for an experienced Metallurgist for our client, a long-established Forging business based in Sheffield. You'll be joining a successful and profitable business with a full order book and a positive and welcoming culture.

The successful Metallurgist will have a strong understanding of quality and inspection procedures and processes. You will be responsible for metallurgical work on site and get involved with all quality aspects including internal audits, investigating non-conformances, implementing corrective actions and liaising with customers. You will have a recognised materials science / metallurgy qualification (degree or similar) and ensure that standards are met, and guarantee customer service levels are adhered to. You will generate material specifications, manage any subcontract testing and be involved with various process improvement projects and cost saving methods. At least two years post qualification experience in metal procedures, heat treatment and thermomechanical processes is required as well as experience of working with titanium, nickel and iron-based alloys.

Educated to degree level in Metallurgy, Materials Technology or similar
Previously held a Metallurgical position within a Forging / Manufacturing environment
Previously worked with titanium, aluminium, steel, nickel and iron-based alloys.
