Salary: £26,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Role overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Homeless Mentor, focusing on supporting refugees in the Liverpool area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of displaced individuals by providing crucial guidance and support.

Responsibilities:

Delivering information, advice, and guidance to homeless individuals who are refugees, with a focus on empowering them to rebuild their lives.

Supporting clients with exploring housing options, identifying employment opportunities, and accessing relevant support services.

Mentoring individuals to set and achieve SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) targets to progress towards stable housing and employment.

Developing robust action plans tailored to each individual's needs and circumstances.

Providing ongoing support and advocacy to clients as they navigate various challenges.

Collaborating with local agencies and organizations to ensure comprehensive support for clients.

Conducting outreach and traveling around the Liverpool area to engage with clients.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with homeless individuals, particularly within the refugee community.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Strong understanding of housing options, employment resources, and support services available to homeless individuals.

Ability to develop and implement effective action plans with measurable goals.

Empathy, patience, and resilience in supporting clients through challenging situations.

Flexibility and willingness to travel within the Liverpool area as required.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in all interactions.
