A brand-new contract, large scale employment opportunities; HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough is setting the standard for new build prisons of the future, using forward-thinking design and technology. HMP Five Wells opened in February 2022, the UK’s first purpose-built, peer-led resettlement Prison, a one-of-a-kind new generation category C new build Prison for the future; HMP Five Wells will be an integral part of the local community. 

Care & Rehabilitation Services (CaRS) successfully manages 5 prisons, one secure training centre and a number of community contracts in England and Wales. The philosophy of our prisons is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release. We seek to normalise prison conditions as far as possible to reflect life in the outside community. Our aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe. 

We are looking for a dynamic individual who can work individually using their own initiative or as part of a team to join our Resettlement function across HMP Five Wells. You will provide an effective and efficient administration service to the department with specific responsibility for organising and implementing ID and Bank Account requirements for prisoners at site. 

The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Administrator and therefore must be able to demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines, have a keen eye for detail, have the ability to prioritise workload and challenge where necessary.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as well as working proactively and using your own initiative. It is key that you are flexible and adaptable to deal with ever-changing scenarios. The role requires an individual with excellent IT skills.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role are;

Carry out administrative duties to support the resettlement function.
Act as the single point of contact for matters relating to the delivery of Identification and bank account set up services for prisoners as outlined in the HMPPS Resettlement Services Business Plan
Assess the needs of prisoners who require ID and/or bank accounts and keep necessary records associated with this.
Support prisoners with applications for both ID and bank accounts, including following necessary procedures, managing and responding to enquiries and acting as a single point of contact.
Ensure a robust system is in place to identify relevant prisoners and offer the services during the resettlement period.
Maintain necessary financial records and management information, providing reports where required.
Support the Prison Employment Lead in identifying and job-matching prisoners to opportunities for employment, training and ROTL.
Support the gathering of Management Information relating to resettlement outcomes for prisoners at site.
Undertake broader administrative tasks at times as required by the business, including minute taking
Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health & Safety culture across the site leading by example, this includes reporting accidents and near misses in a timely manner & follow the applicable safe systems of work for the role.
