Category Assistant (2 roles available) - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Hybrid – based at our Bradford office with some home working.

Salary up to £26,837 depending on experience

37.5 per week

Supporting the Category Manager your role as a Category Assistant will be to develop and deliver a category sourcing programme, manage relationships with suppliers and markets and to deliver cost savings to the organisation. You will manage a specific set of categories under guidance from the Category Manager and will ensure compliance while applying a risk-based approach to deliver maximum commercial value. You will also be providing expert guidance to a range of internal stakeholders and develop communication strategies for contract mobilisation.

About you

To be successful in this role you will ideally be qualified to degree level and have membership (or be working towards) CIPS.

You will also have:

* Knowledge of Procurement processes and procedures.

* Excellent relationship building and communication skills as you will be delivering sensitive and technical information to internal and external audiences.

* Experience of meeting KPI targets and service standards in a commercial environment.

* Broad procurement experience across a variety of categories, both goods and services.

* Procurement research, developing innovative solutions and contributing to the strategic planning process.

* Planning, organising, decision-making, negotiating and influencing skills.

* Buying or Purchasing experience would also be preferred.
