Job Description:
Riley Projects is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent specializing in custom residential construction to manage projects ranging from 4,000 to 20,000 sqft. You will be responsible for executing the construction of a project from permit approval to close-out, ensuring that project delivery is on-time, on-budget, and high-quality. The role includes direct scheduling, management, and support of subcontractors; job-site QA/QC; and collaboration with the internal construction, pre-construction, and design teams. The ideal candidate will work well independently and be proactive in the field, while working closely with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, clients, and city inspectors to ensure projects meet a high bar for quality, safety, and health standards.
This role reports directly to the Construction Manager and works closely with the Director of Operations. You will engage with Construction Superintendent colleagues via a daily morning stand-up, chat platforms, and on-site support / collaboration as needed.

Responsibilities:
Thoroughly review drawings, budgets, and schedules to understand project scope, products, details, and sequencing
Author RFIs to the internal team and be proactively involved on their resolution
Communicate directly with design and pre-construction teams on RFIs, schedules, and procurement
Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and others as needed to determine project technical needs
Foster strong subcontractor relationships and be a resource to subcontractors in the field
Set performance goals and deadlines for subcontractors and vendors
Manage job-site documentation sets to ensure all subs are updated and fully comprehend the design and drawings
Plan inspections and manage job card
Implement and ensure compliance with safety and quality guidelines
Use company digital platforms to document job-site progress and issues
Anticipate and resolve on-site issues and emergencies; escalate to the Construction Manager for support as needed
Requirements
5-10 years experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar role
Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
In-depth understanding of construction operations, processes, QA/QC, and details
Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and civil drawings and details
Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software
Organizational, time-management, and communication skills
Ability to lead, inspire, and work independently
Willingness to collaborate, learn, and help others
