The Commercial Pricing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing targeted pricing strategies to capture the utilities market while maximising growth and profitability. The successful candidate will possess a strong blend of commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and collaborative skills to drive competitive pricing initiatives and support overall business objectives, and as a team, we're writing the next chapter of Arqiva's success story.

The role

Own the Pricing Strategy:

•Develop targeted pricing strategies and deal structures to capture the utilities market. Drawing from market analysis and customer insights, the Commercial Pricing Manager will craft pricing strategies that align with Arqiva's business objectives while remaining competitive in the utilities sector.

•Set the target price level for all Arqiva utilities offerings. Leveraging industry knowledge and financial analysis, the Commercial Pricing Manager will determine optimal pricing levels to maximise revenue and profitability.

•Create and maintain price models, supporting bid pricing responses (e.g., financing). Using data analytics and financial modelling techniques, the Commercial Pricing Manager will develop and maintain pricing models to support bid pricing responses, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in the bidding process.

Maximize Growth and Profit:

•Drive more RFP wins with competitive and compelling price proposals. Through strategic pricing and value proposition development, the Commercial Pricing Manager will enhance Arqiva's competitiveness in the utilities market, increasing the likelihood of winning.

•Secure TCV (Total Contract Value) profitability over time through value engineering. By applying value engineering principles, the Commercial Pricing Manager will optimise TCV profitability over the contract lifecycle, balancing customer value with financial objectives.

•Create and enforce pricing policies and guidelines. Establishing clear pricing policies and guidelines, the Commercial Pricing Manager will ensure consistency and compliance across all utilities offerings, minimising pricing discrepancies and maximising revenue potential.

Centralise and Share Knowledge:

•Collaborate to gather insights and input on pricing strategies. Working cross-functionally with internal teams, the Commercial Pricing Manager will gather insights and input to inform pricing strategies, leveraging collective knowledge and expertise.

•Stay informed about industry trends and customer requirements. Proactively monitoring industry trends and customer preferences, the Commercial Pricing Manager will stay ahead of market changes, adapting pricing strategies accordingly to maintain competitiveness.

Streamline Process Delivery:

•Bridge between finance and commercial teams to facilitate governance processes. Serving as a liaison between finance and commercial teams, the Commercial Pricing Manager will streamline governance processes related to pricing, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and commercial strategies.

•Support sales and bid teams during price negotiations and client presentations. Providing guidance and support to sales and bid teams, the Commercial Pricing Manager will assist in price negotiations and client presentations, leveraging pricing expertise to secure favourable outcomes.

The person

•Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role (within a B2B setting)
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively tailor messaging to different audiences.
•Exceptional project management skills, capable of juggling multiple bids concurrently.
•Proficiency in document creation and formatting tools (MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
•Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and persuasive content.
•Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
•Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams and build relationships with stakeholders.
•Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
