Practice Accountant

THE COMPANY
Our client, an established business based in Stafford require an experienced Practice Accountant to work in their busy Accountancy Practice.

THE ROLE
• Preparation and submission of annual accounts, quarterly VAT reports, and returns for statutory bodies (e.g., HMRC, Companies House).
• Preparing and submitting tax returns to statutory bodies.
• General bookkeeping using cloud software- Xero, QuickBooks, Sage etc.
• Implementing and properly utilising account systems and policies.
• Preparing management reports (e.g., monthly, quarterly management accounts) for shareholders and company executives.
• Handling queries, disputes, and investigations from statutory bodies regarding annual returns, VAT, payroll, etc.
• Overseeing and assisting trainees with various accountancy tasks and administrative processes.
• Managing monthly and weekly payroll for clients.

REQUIREMENTS
• 3 years of experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Ability to handle a wide range of responsibilities simultaneously.
• Good exposure to the nature of small to medium size enterprises (SMEs).
• Working knowledge of software packages and systems used in accounting firms.
• High level of personal and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ideally ACCA qualified or studying towards ACCA qualification.
