We are looking for a Noise Nuisance Senior Officer to start immediately within Redbridge, Ilford (East London/Essex).

We are looking for applications who can start immediately, with a sound knowledge of Noise Nuisance and case building for prosecution.

Rate: £46,041.00 P/A

Hours: Monday – Friday: Shift basis for evening and weekends

Contract: Permanent

Duties/Responsibilities: (full JD will be provided to shortlisted candidates)

* Working with enforcement officers to gather evidence and breaches.

* Taking cases to court and prosecuting individuals and businesses

* To give expert professional advice and support to businesses promoting compliance through education, enforcement, and investigation of complaints.

* To lead projects or multi-disciplinary operational teams in high priority intel-led investigations

* To carry out noise nuisance site visits on commercial and residential locations

* To carry out inspections, intervention, and project-based safety inspections.

* To investigate incidents to establish the cause and to prevent further cases.

* To lead on environmental permitting, planning consultations for acoustic control.

* Be responsible for Noise related digital equipment. Installation/maintenance and function

* To carry out reactive and proactive work in respect of all types of noise/public nuisance related work.

Essential requirements:

* UK Driving Licence

* Accredited degree in Environmental Health or equivalent (Level 6) qualification or Evidence of Continuous Professional Development including Membership / Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

* Educated to degree level, specialist field qualification desirable e.g. diploma in Acoustics, HHSRS training, NEBOSH

* Experience of Enforcement services within the public or private sectors

* Experience of formal enforcement action including report preparation, evidence gathering, collation and assembly of disclosure files.

* In-depth knowledge of Environmental Health / Noise Nuisance enforcement responsibilities and legislation
