Position: Production Engineer
Location: Berkshire, at a leading Electronics Manufacturing Firm
Position Summary: We are in search of a Production Engineer with a robust electronics background and enthusiasm for advancing technology production. This role involves translating client requirements into detailed production schedules and ensuring the operational efficiency and effectiveness of our production lines.
Responsibilities:
* Transform client specifications into detailed operational programs for production equipment.
* Address and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly, while conducting necessary maintenance.
* Create and refine assembly guides, production tools, and fixtures to boost operational efficiency.
* Assist with the setup and integration of new production machinery.
* Maintain strict adherence to quality assurance standards across all products and processes.
* Facilitate collaboration across various departments to ensure smooth production operations.
* Participate in initiatives for Continuous Improvement (CI), New Product Introduction (NPI), and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
* Perform detailed analyses to identify the root causes of production issues and devise effective solutions.
Candidate Profile:
* Demonstrable expertise in electronics manufacturing.
* Skilled in the use of Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) tools, especially those used in printed circuit board assembly.
* Effective project management capabilities, with experience in managing significant capital projects.
* Competence in Microsoft Office, various CAD tools, and understanding of Gerber files.
* Experience with stencil design, procurement, and familiarity with ERP systems and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
* Proficient in managing oven profiles and the screen-printing process.
Educational and Professional Requirements:
* Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
* At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the manufacturing sector.
Compensation and Benefits:
* Annual Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Based on experience), inclusive of a performance-based bonus.
* Work Schedule: 37-hour week; Monday to Thursday from 08:00-16:30 (30-minute lunch break) and Friday from 08:00-13:00.
* Vacation: 5 weeks annual leave plus public holidays and additional days for long-term service.
* Retirement: Company pension plan with 5% contribution from employee and 3% from employer.
