Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Cambridge.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

You may bring your creativity to the role. If you enjoy art, music or have any other skill or hobby you are welcome to create activities for the people we support to learn and enjoy. They love to get involved and try new things.
Part of the role also includes planning and supporting with activities outside of the house and participating in the community to promote skills and individuality. This may be a trip to the local shops, movies, cafés, or it could be a trip to the zoo! or even supporting them on holidays and You too can support with planning and accompanying on such memorable trips.
We currently looking for someone to support a gentleman every other weekend (8 hours Saturday and Sunday) to access the community shopping and cinema, Bowling etc  and support him to the gym or swimming and if you can ride a bike that would be useful too as he loves bike riding 
At Thorpe Way we support people to live as independently as possible. This will include budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
What we're looking for:
·      A genuine passion for supporting others.
·      Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
·      Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
·      A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
 
Contract options:
·      Full-time:37.5 hrs
·      Part-time: flexible hours based on availability
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
 
There is also a non contractual sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45.
