About the Job
We are looking for a skilled engineer to join our team in Carnforth. As a service engineer with our client, you will visit a variety of customer sites throughout the area to carry out maintenance, repairs and services on our customers' machines to a high standard. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilize and develop your engineering skills in a varied and interesting role.
Salary: £35,500 plus competitive overtime rates and bonus

Our client is a major machinery distribution company operating through a network of 17 depots across the region. They pride themselves on providing customers with world-class service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 Repairing and maintaining machines on customers' sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturer's specifications
 Attending breakdowns and fault finding on machines
 Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet
 Submitting daily timesheets and job cards
 Accurately ordering parts and working closely with the parts department
 Working closely with the service supervisor
 Helping to train and mentor apprentice engineers
 Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at the depot as required - in conformance with manufacturer's specifications and regulations
 Ensuring no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
 Relevant qualifications e.g. City and Guilds, NVQ or SVQ in Construction Plant / HGV / Light Vehicle etc (essential)
 Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
 The ability to prioritize tasks and work well in a busy environment
 Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with customers
 Good IT skills
 A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work In
