Civil Design Engineer
A regional housebuilder have a requirement for a Civil Design Engineer to join their Design & Technical team.
About the role - Civil Design Engineer
Reporting to the Technical Manager you will have a hands-on role working within the land and technical team and of course alongside the other departments.
You will take the lead on ensuring that civil design packages are not only regulatory compliant but are also efficient and make full use of value engineering principles.
Responsibilities for Civil Design Engineer
Preparation of civil design concepts for site feasibilities, including ground modelling if required.
Preparation of technically complete civil design packages on new developments.
Detailed knowledge and working experience of design software for highways, drainage and earthworks.
Obtaining of full S278/S38/S104/S185 technical approvals with highway, water authorities and LLFA etc.
Assisting the Architectural Manager with design information for Planning and Building Regulations submission and discharge.
Close working relationship with our Development Engineer on new and live schemes.
Structural Engineer liaison where required on schemes that involve structural elements, i.e. culverts, bridges, highway retaining structures.
Dealing with Commercial, Sales & Site queries in relation to the design elements. Attendance to site where required to ensure design compliance.
Dealing with External Consultants.
Requirements for Civil Design Engineer
Previous experience working for a House builder or a Design Consultancy on housing developments producing designs for new developments
Detailed knowledge and working experience of design software for highways, drainage and earthworks.
Producing detailed designs for utility providers
Assisting with the production of planning applications
