The Depot Manager will be fully accountable for managing the depot operations while proactively seeking ways to enhance cost efficiency, service levels, and operational effectiveness. This role requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage resources, including third-party partners, to achieve agreed service levels and budget targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage all areas of warehouse sortation efficiently and cost-effectively to ensure key KPIs are achieved, including pick compliance, sortation compliance, delivery service, and customer delivery experience.
Assist the Operations Director in managing and controlling the budget to meet SLA’s, including productivity, labour costs, overtime usage, and agency usage.
Oversee depot recruitment as authorised by the Operations Director, ensuring adherence to company standards.
Maintain health and safety regulations by ensuring safe systems of work, conducting risk assessments, and completing accident investigations and reporting regularly.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including managing absence and labour turnover.
Develop employees within the company's guidelines, ensuring all necessary appraisals and reviews are up to date.
Manage the performance of direct reports by setting and monitoring key objectives.
Develop and maintain effective communication channels with all relevant areas of the business, including Day/Night Shift Management, Customer Services, Transport, Compliance, and the Sales Team.
Ensure company security processes are maintained and the safekeeping of all company assets is controlled.
Liaise effectively with suppliers where appropriate.The Candidate

Understanding of IOSH/NEBOSH and ISO9001 is highly beneficial.

Experience managing via a suite of KPIs and SOPs.
Self-starter, able to work independently.
