Due to the expansion of the team in Doncaster our client is looking for a proactive Locomotive Technician who will be key in refurbishing, servicing, and examining a fleet of commercial freight trains, ensuring excellence within the set timescales and budgets.

Ideal candidates will bring experience from the rail industry, however, those with a rich history in the Armed forces, particularly REME, or with a background in servicing large-scale vehicles such as HGVs, buses, or trams, will find their skills are highly transferable to this role.

The role as a Locomotive Technician.
Carry out maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification and fault finding on locomotives.
Lead engineer for contracts, projects or tasks as necessary to support operational performance.
Updating SAP system to ensure availability of parts
Inputting of data into the locomotive history tracking system.
Assist other engineers on the team.
Adhere to strict H&S Policy.
Carry audits in line with Company quality management standards and processes.
Work in line with legislation and rail industry requirements. Essential Qualifications & Experience for a Locomotive Technician

Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience 
Driving license (B/ B1)
Demonstrable history of working effectively with Diesel engineering technology and associated systems and controls
Self- starter and a team player, able to coach and help others to get the job done to a high-standard
A strong communicator
A logical, analytical and objective approach to problem solving and fault diagnosis
High level of professionalism & strong sense of customer satisfaction
Based close to Doncaster Benefits to you as a Locomotive Technician 
Salary £39,960 - £45,960 (including 20% Shift Pay)
12 hours shifts
Working an 8 week rota (4on, 5off and 5on, 4off)
33 Days Annual Leave including Bank Holidays

Employer Pension Contribution 5%
