Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (dependent upon experience)

Location: Watford

The Client:

My client is a leading Chartered Accountants & Tax Advisers in London, Watford and Milton Keynes. With 19 Principals and over 200 staff they are a significant firm in the region. The firm is growing, dynamic and innovative, developing new ideas and services to assist their clients. This role requires a high-quality finance professional with a strong academic background who can demonstrate technical accounting knowledge, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will report directly to the Finance Principal and ultimately be responsible for the accounting operations of the business.

Responsibilities:

* Producing timely and reliable monthly management information reports for the Finance Principal and the board of management, investigating variances against budgets and providing analysis of differences.

* Preparing annual budgets, half year and quarterly forecasts all with commentary on risks / opportunities.

* Ensuring that all financial targets are met.

* Supporting the Finance Principal and working together with multiple Principals and teams, as necessary, across the firm in order to deliver solutions.

* Support the Finance Principal to develop, document and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the firm.

* Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the firm meets its financial and legal obligations.

* Two direct reports to manage.

Ideal Candidate:

* ACA/ACCA qualified with experience

* Practice experience essential

* Interpreting, analysing and presenting data in an accurate and commercial manner.

* Ability to multi-task, to be a strategic thinker and an effective communicator.

* Strong technical ability.

* Significant managerial experience.

* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise across multiple disciplines internally and externally to the firm.

* Expense management software experience.

* Annual Christmas Bonus equivalent to 1 week’s salary.

* Annual Leave will be 25 days per annum (pro rata). 3 days are normally taken at Christmas/New Year.
