Our client is a well-established, family-run business specializing in the distribution of Frozen, Chilled, and Ambient goods, as well as Fresh Bespoke Butchery and Fresh Fish products to the catering and hospitality industry. Their operations cover multiple regions, and we are experiencing consistent growth in an evolving industry.
Opportunity Overview:
We are seeking a self-motivated, customer-focused, and proactive Account Manager with a passion for food to join our successful sales team. The successful candidate will be based at our depot and will play a crucial role in driving sales, profitability, and growth by building solid customer relationships and striving for excellence.
The Role:
* Develop and maintain strong business relationships with existing key customers and generate a pipeline of prospective accounts in the assigned area.
* Utilize all available resources to search for and develop potential new accounts.
* Write clear & effective proposals & quotations for current & prospective customers using existing templates.
* Manage and resolve customer problems and complaints to ensure continuous improvement in service.
* Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure a unified and effective approach.
* Manage all administrative requirements, including expenses and daily call reports, in line with company procedures and deadlines.
* Communicate relevant customer needs, problems, competitor activities, promotional trends, market conditions, and product developments to management.
* Aim to exceed agreed sales targets and margins to contribute to the achievement of business objectives.
* Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the core product range and gain awareness of other product lines to increase margin enhancement and establish credibility with customers.
* Take on additional responsibilities as required.
The Requirement:
* A genuine passion for food.
* Proven ability to multi-task in a position of responsibility.
* Experience in a demanding customer service environment.
* Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Full UK driving licence.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
