Spencer & James is proud to partner with a family-run, multi-disciplinary Main Contractor specializing in Social Housing Maintenance and Refurbishment. We are on the lookout for an experienced Estimator to join the dynamic Pre-Construction team in North London.
Role: Estimator
Location: North London (with travel to sites)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (Basic Salary)

Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Estimation: Accurately prepare and produce cost estimates from Tender Enquiry to Tender Settlement.
* Team Support: Assist the Senior Estimator and manage the Estimating process to ensure high performance standards and timely completion.
* Planning & Organization: Efficiently plan and organize work to meet business objectives and deadlines.
* Policy Adherence: Follow company policies and procedures to support business operations.
* Collaboration: Provide advice and support to colleagues, liaise with the supply chain, and foster relationships with partners, designers, and suppliers.
* Competitive Bidding: Review jobs to enhance the bid process, evaluate subcontractor quotations, and generate competitive costings.
* Risk Management: Identify and account for tender risks while analysing lost tenders for improvements.
* Data Management: Utilize data spreadsheets and databases efficiently for accurate cost estimation.
* Continuous Improvement: Engage in learning opportunities, including site visits, and regularly communicate with the Senior team regarding workload and business targets.
Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum 3 years of Estimating experience within the Social Housing/Property Services sector at a Main Contractor.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with NHF Schedule of Rates.
* Education: HNC/Degree in a Construction-related subject.
* Skills: Proficient use of Estimating Software and Microsoft Office, ability to prioritize and manage own workload, and excellent team player.
