Core working hours are 9am - 5pm.

AKTON Recruitment is working closely with he local authorities and we are looking for a PA for the leaving care service in the Westminster area. We are looking for someone with LEAVING CARE / LAC EXPERIENCE

General Duties:

To support care leavers make a successful transition to adulthood.
To contribute to the assessments, formulation, implementation and review of Pathway Plans through direct interventions and full engagement of the young person.
To provide assistance and advice to Care Leavers in relation to developing practical independent living skills, holding a tenancy and developing financial capabilities.
Provide coaching and motivational support to enable young people to build the confidence and self-esteem to be successful in adulthood.
Safeguard and protect Care leavers as they transition to independence through regular contact and ensuring that they are; effectively engaged; in suitable accommodation; and in education training or employment appropriate to their abilities and aspirations.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across agencies with the view to co-ordinating the provision of relevant services and taking reasonable steps to ensure the young person makes use of them.
To take on duty tasks and be on the duty rota at least three times monthly.Working patterns:

Flexible/agile working is promoted however it is the expectation that in person attendance in the office is completed at least three times weekly.
Attendance at Team meetings must be in person.
Qualifications

Educated to A level (or equivalent) or extensive experience of directly working with children, young people, their parents and carers to effect positive change
Skills & Experience

Good verbal and written communication skills relevant to the statutory context and job role.
Organisational skills to be able to manage time effectively to balance the competing demands of direct work, undertaking practical tasks, record keeping and following statutory processes.
Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals, families and members of the community in providing or accessing supports and in achieving change.
Ability to assess needs, formulate and communicate plans of support and transitions to independence.
Ability to analyse information and implement SMART plans of action.
Experience of working with vulnerable children, young adults and families according to statutory guidance, either directly in or in partnership with local authority children's services.
Experience of contributing to the safeguarding and support of children, young adults and families in accordance with the expectations set out in the Children Act 1989 and the Leaving Care Act 2000.
Experience of working in settings such as health, housing, youth and employment where skills and knowledge can be transferred to a statutory children's services setting
