We are currently looking for an experienced CAD Manager. It is essential that the ideal candidate must have an excellent working experience of Autodesk Inventor, part and assembly design, knowledge of Vault PDM, and be able to work using their own initiative. The perfect candidate will also be willing to learn the physical assembly of our products, alongside interacting with DIY assemblers and visiting our factories.

Must also must be willing to learn our products assembly processes using a hands-on approach during prototype construction and understanding what we offer to customers by way of fulfilling their orders.

This job is based out of our Bedford Headquarters – MK41 0LF

The application process will require you to show where the essential skills and experiences have been demonstrated.

Essential Experience:

* 3+ years’ experience using Autodesk Inventor.

* Creation of product assemblies.

* Creation of drawings.

* Use of PDM systems.

Desirable Experience:

* 5 years’ experience within relevant environments whilst using Inventor and Vault.

Job includes:

* Producing 3D parametric CAD models and 2D technical drawings for our production facility and customer instructions.

* Maintaining and updating the CAD library with product parts.

* Keeping drawings up to date and other tasks as required.

* Aiding with the development of new designs which are brought to you by the directors.

* Translating drawings between CAD systems.

* Checking designs, and relaying information to relevant factories/departments.

* Ensuring that work is delivered to set deadlines.

* Ability to do variances to templates and to be hands on with prototype assembly

* Developing the team in-line with the growth of the company

* Ensuring that rules, policies and procedures are adhered to

* Dealing with emails/requests/problems that come from other factories/departments/directors

* Training departmental staff as necessary

* Checking instructions and 3d models where necessary

* Update the team with design of products and technical documentation

* Dealing with product problems and assisting with solutions, problem solving

* Carry out all other requests from management on an adhoc or regular basis as required.

Normal hours of work are Monday – Friday; 8:30-17:30
