Network Administrator

CPS Group UK are delighted to be working with a leading organisation to appoint a seasoned Network Administrator / Network Field Engineer on a long-term contract basis. The Network Administrator will support a number of customer sites across South Wales, through the provision of technical support and maintenance solutions for Network and Firewall architecture, troubleshooting LAN and WAN networks and planning and implementing new network-related technologies.

The Network Administrator will have strong knowledge of the Cisco product suite and have experience of working with both legacy networks and state-of-the-art network technologies.

*Candidates must be eligible for Security Clearance (provided by the organisation) and hold a full, clean and valid UK driving license*

Role Requirements

* Provide specialist advice and guidance on non-routine, escalated and complex issues on designated WAN and LAN Networks and be fully conversant with Cisco technologies.
* Plan, organise and control the delivery of the Enterprise Network Firewalls and surrounding technologies including Network Monitoring, Alerting, Deployment and Reporting, etc.
* Plan, organise and control the delivery of Network Security and Networking concepts.
* Plan, organise and control the delivery of Wireless Infrastructure networking concepts.
* Take responsibility for all aspects of Network Project Implementation including installation, configuration, tuning, capacity planning, backup, recovery, security and problem resolution.
* Take responsibility for all aspects of Network Project Change / Developments to include Testing, installing, upgrading, commissioning and carry out fault diagnosis work on hardware, software and Network communications infrastructure.
* Provide appropriate support and education to Projects and Stakeholders.
* Attend technical briefings / seminars when applicable.
* Monitor and record technical performance of the designated Project Networks and prepare regular Network reports.
* Produce / maintain up to date Network documentation with associated tasks and instruction guides for the designated Project Networks.
* Ensure the work meets quality standards in relation to internal and external clients of the ICT department
* Have knowledge and experience of Installing, Configuring and Servicing Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls and Hardware
