Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: West Midlands, West Midlands, Walsall
Job Type: Permanent, expected to work Full-Time hours
Primary Industry: Civil Engineering
Secondary Industry: Utilities
Salary: £40,000.00 - £50,000.00 Per annum
Job Description
Job Duties:
Prepare estimates, budgets, and cost plans for construction projects
Conduct risk assessments and value engineering
Manage project costs within budget constraints
Prepare tender and contract documents
Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
Monitor and control project progress and costs
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS) is desirable
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
Experience in managing project costs and budgets
NEC 3 & 4 Experience
Water Infrastucture if possible
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Good communication and negotiation abilities
Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Excel, CostX)
Preferred Qualifications:
Chartered status with RICS or equivalent
Master's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
Working Conditions:
Office-based work with occasional site visits
Hybrid working
Standard working hours with potential for overtime
Travel may be required to project sites
