Site Operations Manager - Rotherham
Salary: up to £50,000 per annum DOE
Plus car allowance and performance related bonus
37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

The key to being successful in the role of Operations Manager is having extensive experience in a process/manufacturing/engineering setting to ensure the team can be supported in investigating new ways to measure and improve production processes on site. With the ability to provide hierarchical management for the execution of the activities on site and is responsible for the operational administrative processes on site.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of plant operation and maintenance. Ensuring optimum levels of performance are achieved and sustained in accordance with license obligations, and the group wide SHEQ strategy. You will have operational responsibility for the MBT and remote transfer station.

Your key responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring safety standards are constantly improved and full compliance is achieved with both internal and external bodies (HSE & EA)
• Help manage the actions identified through internal and external audits [including SHE monthly inspections and BSI 9001 / 14001 / 18001 audits] are completed in a timely manner
• Improve site processes to enhance performance using innovative and analytical techniques such as Continuous Improvement and KPI management
• The management and leadership of site managers and supervisors, including the oversight of staff training and associated plant administration
• Determine production levels with the Contract Director and Controller
• Lead recruitment and selection of operational staff for all facilities
• Arrange or facilitate site tours for key stakeholders, employees, suppliers and customers
• Manage the key messages and requirements from the site permit, ensure that they are distilled and relayed down through the business
• Prepare facility budgets in line with company guidelines and the requirements. Variances to budget should be discussed and agreed through a monthly reforecasting process
• Manage the actions identified through your P&L review. Ensure that facility managers have the support to close out identified actions

Essential criteria for this role:

• Minimum 3 years' experience of working in a process/manufacturing/engineering environment
• Relevant professional experience in a similar role / level of responsibility
• Demonstrable experience of driving and improving process changes, resulting in greater efficiencies and financial performance
• Experience of P&L management
• Experience of production and the use of KPIs to manage the Contract
• Confident self-starter with ambition to drive the operations forward whilst having close involvement with the financial impact of changes to operating standards
• Ability to remain calm and level headed is essential
• COTC in treatment/transfer is desirable
