GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is responsible for the delivery of services for the division’s custodial services program, at a local university in Oakland, CA. The position acts as a resource to assigned locations regarding custodial services operations, custodians, building inspections, training, special projects, supply inventory and ordering of supplies, emergency calls, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Facilitate the custodial safety training program for all new custodial employees; provide ongoing training as needed; and manage the SDS binder compliance.
Managing and approving daily employee timesheets for semimonthly payroll submissions.
Manage the area preparation schedule assignments for daily events.
Coordinate the summer deep cleaning processes and the summer turnover processes.
Manage client requests for additional services to include quote development, staffing assignments, and follow up for completion to the client’s satisfaction.
Assist with screening the applicants; provide recommendations for employment to the Director.
Collaborate with Human Resources to manage the disciplinary actions process, including employment termination.
Assist with preparing work schedules for assigned employees to the night shift and the special projects such as cleaning of the houses, apartments, and guestrooms.
Participate in biweekly meetings with client divisions for feedback on services rendered.
Consult with client site administrator regarding personnel actions, as needed.
Perform building inspections to ensure the quality of work, cleanliness of buildings, and to certify that safety procedures are followed; document, report, or correct any infractions.
Schedule and perform monthly inventory of supplies; survey equipment and ensure that repairs are made in a timely manner.
Replenish and distribute supplies and equipment in a timely manner to ensure the continued performance of custodial services and assigned facilities.
Collaborate with client divisions to ensure compliance with client processes to include ID office, Department of Public Safety, Residential Security Office, Campus Events, Facilities, IT Services, Sustainability, and Housing and Residential Life.
Complete cross training in all aspects of the operation of custodial services. (e.g., supply inventory and ordering, developing work assignments, facilitating training programs, etc.)
Manage the vendor work orders through Archibus.
Provide support for ad hoc supply order through local purchases at Home Depot, Costco, Etc.
Facilitate employee input meetings and Vacation Events.
Additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements
Fluency in Spanish and English
Valid California Driver’s License
Eligible to work in the United States
Live Scan background check
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience working in custodial and/or building maintenance work.  
This is an exempt position with an annual salary range of $60,000 to $85,000.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of best practices in facility cleaning and maintenance.
Knowledge of cleaning materials, supplies, equipment, building fixtures and equipment.
Ability to learn and properly utilize various machines/equipment especially as machines/equipment is upgraded.
Ability to communicate both verbal and written and build relationships in a culturally diverse environment.
Ability to plan, train and provide work direction to others in a manner that is conducive to full performance and high morale of the employee.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators and staff.
Must be able to respond to emergencies as needed; must be able to rotate between a day/night shift, as directed.
Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs. or more.
Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing and pulling.
