Servicing Analyst

Company: Vontive
Job type: Full-time

The servicing analyst role is an excellent entry point for someone looking to apply quantitative skills and project management skills within a fintech startup. The servicing, capital markets, and accounting teams all work hand in hand to ensure that the loans we originate are setup correctly for all the lifecycle events from origination through to boarding, payment collection, and ultimately payoff.
Mortgage servicing is a historically manual and error-prone business and Vontive is working to streamline and productize every aspect of this workflow, piece by piece. As such, a lot of the day to day responsibility involves interfacing with legacy formats and processes, but a significant portion also goes toward implementing our vision for the future. When issues arise, we troubleshoot them from first principles and use practices such as regular retrospectives to determine what countermeasures we can put in place.
Whether your interest is in learning about a new financial product, understanding how software can disrupt a legacy business, or simply applying yourself in a rewarding operational role, this is a great opportunity for the right person and you will join a team of collegial high performers with a high degree of autonomy and collaboration.
Concretely, the position responsibilities include:
Performing a wide variety of operational tasks related to loan administration: process payments, payoffs, lien releases
Preparing spreadsheets with loan data for loan transfer with high accuracy
Reviewing a wide variety of documents relevant to the loan and the borrower and ensuring correct data is used for loan transfers
Preparing electronic documents packages for loan sale and servicing transfer
Reviewing borrower pay history in 3rd party portals, identifying issues and communicating them to the servicer.
Initiating and ensuring complete execution of loan extension and other documents
Monitoring servicing department inboxes and address client and 3rd party requests
