Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting department and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, implementing best practices, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial tasks and responsibilities.
Oversee the general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and company policies.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to support financial reporting requirements.
Coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries, and ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities, analyzing variances and providing recommendations to management.
Manage the preparation of tax filings, including income tax returns, sales tax returns, and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax examinations, providing necessary documentation and resolving any audit findings or tax issues.
Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate relevant updates to accounting staff and management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and identify trends and variances.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
