Fabricator

Fabricator / Welder (Full training to become a Coppersmith) – Manufacturer of parts for the process industry.

Based in Prestonpans near Musselburgh

Permanent role – Up to £18.00 per hour (up to £35,100 basic salary per annum) + Overtime (Monday – Friday over 37.5 hours paid at 1.5x / Saturday paid at 1.5x / Sunday paid at 2x), Approx 50-60 hours available per week. (Average earnings of approx. £45k - £50K) + Pension.

Multiple roles available. Weld tests and interviews to take place over the next 2 weeks, immediate starts available.

This specialist manufacturer of components and systems for the process industry have exciting plans to double their order book in the next two years having joined up with a global name in the sector. With workload increasing, there is a requirement to grow the manufacturing team to ensure the demand for the product is met on time and to budget. The Role

As a Fabricator / Welder the role will involve the following:

Shaping copper into copper distillation and condensing equipment for a wide range of projects
General welding and fabrication tasks including MIG/TIG welding and using guillotines and press brake machines to cut and bend the copper
This will include classic “copper smithing” work once the metal is hot
There will be some site-based repair work when required
Adhering to all health & safety requirements
Working as part of a small, skilled fabrication team
You will undergo full training on how to become a Coppersmith
The Fabricator / Welder will need the following skills to be successful in their application:

You will need to have a wide range of fabricating / welding experience working with stainless steel or aluminium
Previous experience in TIG/MIG/MMA welding
Used guillotines and press brake machines in previous roles
Worked with bespoke products
Able to read engineering drawings
Excellent work ethic
An eye for detail and diligent working practices
