System Integration Engineer

Location – Gillingham, Kent

Are you qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in a related engineering discipline?

We have an exciting opportunity based in Gillingham for a System Integration Engineer to work for one of our clients who is looking for a candidate who has strong experience in Mechanical Engineering and ideally within automotive.

We are looking for someone with sufficient experience to work independently with limited support and hit the ground running. You will need to have mechanical experience, able to work with parts although automotive experience is not essential.

Weekly working hours are 37 per week

Monday 8:00 am till 4:30 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)

Friday 8:00 am till 1:00 pm (no break)

Responsibilities

* Assist with FIS project System Integration duties according to Customer and company project schedules, adhering to company quality standards, and utilising relevant process tools and resources.

* Aid the component and project team in adhering to prescribed procedures and employ troubleshooting techniques to promptly address technical issues.

* Assist in departmental tasks such as overseeing prototype part logistics, attending customer meetings, and engaging in design reviews.

* Gather customer requirements and produce a 'Book Of Requirements' to manage component specifications within the system, monitoring progress through company processes.

* Support system risk evaluation and engineering sign-off tasks up to the Director level.

* Participate in regular customer project meetings and cultivate relationships with customers, company product engineering teams, and suppliers at suitable levels.

* Preparation of project documentation.

* Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and simultaneous engineering practices.

Skills and Experience

* Will be qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in a related engineering discipline

* Must have the ability to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory data to effectively solve problems

* Preferably hold experience in engine/vehicle engineering

* Essential candidates show competency in PC tools appropriate to the role (Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

* Ideally have good Project/task leadership

* Must have good written skills
