A fantastic oppertunity for a Senior Business Support Officer in Lewisham has become avalible. Within this role you will play a pivotal role in providing efficient administrative and clerical support within the Children & Young People Section. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of tasks, from general administrative support to service-specific assistance and building management.

Key Responsibilities:

General Administrative Support:

Guide and mentor Business Support Officers, contributing to the Performance Evaluation Scheme (PES) process when necessary.
Manage incoming and outgoing post, both physical and electronic, for the division.
Maintain accurate filing systems, both electronic and paper-based, using key systems such as EHM, LCS, and ContrOCC.
Handle document scanning, indexing, and distribution to intended recipients.
Assist in organising events, training courses, staff visits, and meetings, including logistical arrangements.
Take precise minutes at meetings and maintain confidentiality.
Support budget and contract register monitoring.
Manage internal queries and basic ICT requests, including troubleshooting and system updates.
Buildings & Premises Support:

Procure and distribute stationery, supplies, and equipment following standard processes.
Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders.
Maintain office spaces and equipment to comply with Health & Safety regulations.
Service Specific Support:

Handle customer inquiries professionally and efficiently, resolving issues or escalating as necessary.
Provide information on services, processes, and legislation, and update customer information systems.
Process applications, referrals, and payments, adhering to financial regulations.
Prepare cases, files, and documents for review and approval.
Produce public information materials and reports as required.
Assist in project management tasks when requested.Key Requirements:

Proficient in administrative tasks with a focus on customer service.
Ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Competence in ICT, including troubleshooting and basic system management.
Understanding of financial regulations and procurement processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and cover varied tasks.
Commitment to confidentiality, data protection, and compliance with policies and procedures.
