Senior RF Design Engineer – Cambridge - £50,000 - £65,000 pa
Due to a rapidly increasing workload, an Electronics Manufacturer area is looking for a Senior RF Engineer to join their team developing communication solutions used in a variety of sectors including defence & security, marine and emergency services.
Job description
In this role, you will contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of innovative communication products. Your primary responsibilities will include designing RF (Radio Frequency) subsystems, resolving production issues, and collaborating across various departments to bring cutting-edge communication solutions to market.
Key Responsibilities
Product Improvement: Lead technical efforts to resolve production issues and enhance the performance of existing product lines.
New Product Development: Design and integrate advanced RF subsystems with Bluetooth, WiFi, and Cellular technologies for our next-generation radios.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with firmware, PCB, and mechanical engineers to deliver robust, market-leading products.
Type Approval Expertise: Support the type approval process, ensuring our products comply with industry standards and regulations.Key skills:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in RF and Electronics Design
Experience with UHF/VHF
Extensive experience with RF Design, Power Amplifiers, discrete component design and power supplies.
PCB Design & Layout
Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and resolving production issues using laboratory equipment, while working closely with factory and test teams.Nice to have’s/non essentials:
Discrete RF Design: Experience with transmitters, receivers, PLLs, and VCOs.
Programming: Labview, Visual Studio, Python, C/C++.
EMI/EMC knowledge,
SMT prototyping,
