Balfour Beatty VINCI is proud to be designing and building a 90KM stretch of the West Midlands section of HS2. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Managing Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial Team.

This role will be based on site in Based in Stoneleigh, Coventry.

Building a 12KM stretch covering areas in Leamington Spa, Coventry, and Solihull. The sublot will be responsible for the creation of Viaducts, over bridges, under bridges and 8KM of roadworks as well as retaining structure at Stoneleigh park.

Managing subcontract packages and self-delivered works reporting into the Sublot Commercial Manager, with a team of Quantity Surveyors to support the large scale packages and supporting functions whilst minimising risks and costs to ensure efficient delivery across the Sublot.

Highlighting and supporting change identification under the NEC ECC Main Contract, and maintaining Contract administration to the labour and and plant suppliers facilitating the SL works.

Supporting strong Sublot reporting and junior members in their team to progress and develop in role.

Experience required

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent

• Preferred Membership of RICS, CICES but not essential

• NEC3 / 4 experience • Strong Commercial experience preferably within a construction environment

Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:

• 42 viaducts totalling over 11km

• 66 overbridges

• More than 35 cuttings reaching over 30km

• 56 culverts

• 66 embankments reaching over 33km

• Building four motorway crossings requiring box structures

• Six interfaces with the existing rail requiring both dive-under and overbridge structures

Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Managing Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial team. This role will be based on site in Coleshill. Our head office is located within an excellent location easily accessible via the M6 and M42. The office is also accessible via rail, and we offer employees a shuttle bus transfer to our office from Birmingham international.

Role description:

Responsible for initiating and leading tasks and processes, taking responsibility and being accountable, where relevant, for the work and roles of others whilst exercising broad autonomy and judgement within broad parameters in their area of responsibility.
Responsible to a Project Manager or Commercial Manager for relevant commercial aspects of a section of a project.
Ensure that BBV’s commercial position is protected using in depth understanding and experience of contractual, commercial, insurance and legal processes.
Some responsibility for effective client relationship management to encourage smooth commercial progression of the contract(s) Provides liaison with the client, PQS, and senior staff.  Experienced required:

BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent.
Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB. 
Strategic change Management. 
Business and Customer Awareness.
