EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR A PROCESS ENGINEERING MANAGER TO JOIN A LEADING ELECTRONICS COMPANY IN BICESTER, OXFORDSHIRE

A leading organisation are looking to add aProcess Engineering Manager to join their growing team based in Bicester, Oxfordshire. This company develop state-of-the-art complex embedded products and are sold all over the world.

They are market leaders in their industry and are growing year on year. Due to growth, they are looking to add a Process Engineering Manager. the Process Engineering Manager is responsible for coordinating activities within the Process Engineering team and providing front line 'hands-on' engineering support to the Operations Department. In addition, the Process Engineering Manager has day-to-day responsibility for production and test processes, including calibration, and for the introduction of new products into production.Reporting to theDirector of Operations, theProcess Engineering Manageris responsiblefor

Key responsibilities / requirements of the Process Engineering Manager job:

1. Co-ordinating Activities Within the Process Engineering Team:

Plan and track work, prioritising and assigning tasks to team members to ensure timely completion.
Define, scope, and manage resources for projects.
Provide hands-on support to the Operations Department, addressing first-time pass yield (FTPY) build and test issues.
Oversee OxTS production and test processes, including calibration.
Manage processes for existing product lines and new products transitioning from R&D to production.
2. Process Engineering:

Develop and improve test equipment to meet business growth requirements.
Own FTPY for both existing and new products, analysing failures and working with various departments to implement solutions.
Manage the Turnbacks process for logging and resolving first-time build, test, and process failures.
Handle quarantine processes and collaborate with Engineering and Quality departments on test procedures for components.
Lead technical investigations into supplier quality issues.
Maintain documentation such as work instructions, Bill of Materials, and component drawings.
3. Production:

Conduct proactive and preventive maintenance and calibration of production test and assembly equipment.
Manage component and process changes into production, ensuring validation and verification before integration.
Train production technicians on building newly introduced products and regularly assess staff to ensure adherence to procedures and quality requirements.
4. New Product Introduction & Design for Manufacture:

Manage the Design for Manufacture Engineer.
Oversee pre-production processes for new product development, ensuring readiness for production.
Collaborate with R&D to ensure new designs are suited for large-scale manufacturing and testing.
Manage new product introduction (NPI) into production, ensuring availability of BoMs and diagrams.
Ensure parts availability for the foreseeable lifecycle of new products.
Support Purchasing in managing parts obsolescence and sourcing alternatives.
Address obsolescence issues, performing simple PCB redesigns as required.
Collaborate with R&D and Purchasing to identify reliable component suppliers.
5. General:

Align departmental priorities with business objectives in coordination with other Team Leaders and Managers.
Define and calculate monthly metrics for the Process Engineering Team.
Escalate concerns or issues to the Director of Operations as necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:

BSc degree or HND in Physics or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
Experience in power electronics or microwave power amplifiers and associated test equipment.
Awareness of high voltage safety hazards and protection methods.
Strong team player with excellent organisational skills.

Manufacturing Experience and implementation of CI.
Experience working within an Electronic environment.
Investigate process and quality.
Managing Maintenance of equipment.
