HR Manager - Construction

Our client is a leading Mechanical & Electrical design and fitout contractor based in East London. They cover design, installation and commissioning services across all sectors and have established themselves as a go to contractor in this space.

Due to continued growth of the business, they are looking to add a HR Manager to their professional people teams. The HR Manager will advise and supports directors, employees and managers at all levels including identifying issues occurring and that my occur in future.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a diligent HR professional to join an established business with major growth plans for the years to come.

The successful candidate would have several years' experience in HR based position, ideally within the construction or M&E contracting sectors.

Position Overview:

Oversee the recruitment and selection process.
Foster a positive workplace culture and promote employee engagement.
Address employee grievances and mediate workplace conflicts.
Implement and monitor employee satisfaction initiatives and feedback mechanisms.
Develop and implement performance appraisal systems.
Work with managers to identify employee development needs and opportunities.
Support the creation of individual development plans and training programs.
Ensure compliance with all labour laws and regulations.
Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
Oversee the maintenance of employee records in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
Administer employee compensation and benefits programs.
Conduct market research to ensure competitive compensation packages.
Assist line management with issues related in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, sexual harassment, and other HR topics.
Support in the development and implementation of performance management systems tailored to the needs of the construction sector, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.
Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.
Develop and deliver training programs related to HR policies, employee development, and regulatory compliance.HR Manager - Construction

Position Requirements:

Experience working in a fast-paced HR team, ideally within the construction sector.
CIPD qualified or higher educated, or relevant experience currently working towards CIPD.
Practical understanding of UK employment law.
Experienced in case management.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
