Job Summary
We are seeking an HSE Manager for small EPCM portfolio project to be based at our Client’s facility in County Durham NE UK. The HSE Managerwill be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and best practices working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and the client to promote a culture of safety, minimise environmental impact, and mitigate health risks associated with construction activities. The role will involve planning, monitoring, and continuously improving HSE performance throughout all phases of EPCM projects.
Key Responsibilities :
HSE Program Development and Implementation :
Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.
Establish goals, objectives, and performance metrics to measure and improve HSE performance across EPCM projects.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with HSE standards and identify areas for improvement.
Risk Assessment and Management :
Identify potential HSE hazards and risks associated with construction activities and develop strategies to mitigate or eliminate them.
Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses, and environmental impact assessments to ensure the safety of workers and minimi se environmental impact.
Implement controls and measures to manage HSE risks effectively throughout all project phases.
Training and Awareness :
Develop and deliver HSE training programs for construction personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to raise awareness and promote best practices.
Provide guidance and support to project teams on HSE‐related matters, including emergency response procedures, hazard communication, and incident reporting.
Incident Investigation and Reporting :
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain accurate records of HSE incidents, including near misses, injuries, illnesses, and environmental spills, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
Regulatory Compliance :
Stay abreast of relevant HSE regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the pharmaceutical industry and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
Liaise with regulatory agencies, clients, and other stakeholders to address HSE‐related enquiries, inspections, and audits.
Continuous Improvement :
Monitor HSE performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimi sation.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HSE processes, procedures, and practices across EPCM projects.
Qualifications

* Occupational Health and Safety accredited qualification.
* Professional certification in occupational health and safety preferred.
* Extensive experience in HSE management, preferably in the construction industry and within the pharmaceutical sector.
* Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to construction projects.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage HSE programs and initiatives.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast‐paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
