The Skills People Group are a national provider of NVQs and specialise in both commercial and funded training and are proud to be nationally recognised as one of the UK’s largest private training providers. We are currently recruiting for a highly organised, qualified Construction Trainer Assessor to join our existing team.

The construction NPORs Trainer is responsible for encompassing training, reviewing, and completing learners within construction at Levels 2 and 3 on varying funded programmes.

This role will require you to deliver high quality teaching, assessment and support the classroom performance of the learners that are employed, as well as aid the learners with portfolio building.

There is a requirement to have experience in the delivery of NPORs and Construction qualification.

This is a new and exciting role as part of our delivery of skilled bootcamps in construction.

The successful candidate will undertake the following main Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducting training and assessment using a variety of different methods as part of the delivery of qualifications at levels 2-3, to ensure the successful outcome for the full achievement of the programme in line with contractual requirements.

Deliver training modules at employers’ premises to both group and individual learners.

To collaborate closely with employers to plan delivery in line with durations agreed.

To upload and track all learning through e-portfolio OneFile so progress is evidence at all times.

Visiting learners in the workplace and delivering teaching & learning in line with the qualification requirements

Produce monthly progress reports of learners within your caseload.

Attend and participate in standardisation as planned / or required.

To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all learners with whom you come into contact.

Complete all relevant funding documentation and administration tasks to meet compliance requirements.

Ensure that all Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirements (including Safe Learner Concept) are complied with always, and ensure all learners are given fair access to assessment.

To facilitate and maintain an effective communication flow and to build strong partnerships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders in order to meet site requirements for plant training/assessing and certification.

To work in conjunction with the Training Team to continually evaluate the effectiveness of the training solution(s) in relation to business needs and realign where appropriate.

To deliver various generic and Specialised Plant Training and assessments around the UK and Internationally

To ensure all operators are compliant with current legislative (i.e. DVLA, CITB, NPORS, VOSA) and company standards.

To develop new training material and review all existing training/learning material and where appropriate bring in line with the agreed standard/company branding.

To promote a professional image at all times in support of the companies and department values

The ideal candidate must possess the following Skills, Experience and Qualities:

Previous experience of plant operation is essential.

Training experience in health and safety, transport, plant, and construction safety would be an advantage.

Experience of working in the Construction Industry

Experience of training and assessing NVQ’s in Construction

Experience of using an e-portfolio

Experience of teaching/training in a workplace environment in groups

Effective communication and people skills

Strong attention to detail

Able to follow processes.

Enthusiasm in the workplace

Work well under pressure

Experience within Construction is essential.

Full UK driving licence and use of own car, prepared to travel and stay away from home.

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

Hold relevant accreditation to train NPORS and/or CPCS.

A valid teaching qualification at a minimum of PTLLS

Recognised NVQ Assessor Qualification e.g. A1 or D32, D22, TAQA

Ideally a level 2 qualification in the specialist sectors of delivery

Maths and English qualifications at Level 2 or above.
