Transport Administrator

Cotteswold Dairy are opening a brand new building in the second half of 2024; and with an expanding Distribution Operation we are looking for a highly organised and efficient Transport Administrator to join the team at the main Tewkesbury site.

With the company transitioning to Office 365, you will be particularly adept with Excel, Word, and managing a busy Outlook inbox & schedule. The successful applicant will coordinate daily operations within the department - serving as the primary connection between the Transport Team and other internal departments. Exceptional problem solving and communication skills will be required, with a can-do attitude and a positive outlook. In addition to experience with Office 365, we will expect a high level of IT Literacy due to work across multiple systems, and an ability to quickly adapt and prioritise.

The Transport Administrator Role

Demonstrating strong and effective levels of written and verbal communication, the ideal candidate will assist the Fleet Logistics Manager and Transport Supervisors in planning, coordinating and assisting drivers and staff within the department. You will also liaise with the Warehouse, Sales Teams, Depots and Customers to ensure a smooth operation, and problem solve along the way.

Key duties of this role include:

Administration of various paperwork, filing and organisation
PC based work on multiple platforms to ensure compliance, checks and trackers are completed and accurate
Handle interdepartmental communication and answer queries via phone and email
Coordinate daily health & safety requirements and compliance
Assist with debriefing of drivers, logging and resolution of issues in a timely manner

IMPORTANT - This role is office-based but may involve working externally at times, including visiting the production and warehouse areas

Due to food hygiene regulations only one solid wedding band is permitted. No earrings, studs, bracelets, necklaces, makeup, strong smelling deodorants or perfumes are permitted in the warehouse, office and production areas

Transport Administrator Working Hours †

Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week over five days. Monday to Friday

You will have a calm manner under pressure, be self-motivated with a keen eye for detail; and be team-focused with excellent time management skills

A good grasp of mathematics is essential, and Microsoft Office skills must include Excel, Outlook and Word. The business will be transitioning to 365 over the coming months, and experience with SharePoint and OneDrive would be advantageous.
