Up to £98,000 DOE

Overview

Compass Associates is excited to be collaborating alongside a renowned private healthcare provider that specialises in neurological conditions including dementia, Huntington’s disease, alcohol-related brain damage, and acquired brain injury.

Together we are looking for a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist in the Bristol area working alongside a comprehensive multidisciplinary team including Senior Nurses, Medics, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists.

Location

This role is easily commutable from Bristol, Weston-Super-Mare, Bath, Newport, Cardiff and Gloucester.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct specialized psychological assessments for clients, integrating data from various sources, including tests, self-reports, observations, and interviews.

* Develop and implement psychological treatment plans based on evidence-based frameworks for both in-patient and out-patient settings.

* Provide a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, refining and adjusting formulations as necessary.

* Evaluate treatment options considering theoretical models and complex individual factors.

* Offer expert psychological, neuropsychological, and neurobehavioral advice and consultation to other professionals for clinical formulations, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

* Collaborate with senior staff to ensure a positive behavioural management system that complies with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and government guidelines on restrictive practices.

* Provide the clinical team with a psychological framework for understanding and caring for clients through advice, consultation, and dissemination of knowledge.

* Undertake and advise on risk assessment and management for individual clients.

* Communicate assessment, formulation, and treatment plans sensitively, monitoring and evaluating progress.

* Facilitate effective psychological care by advising the clinical team.

* Offer expert consultation on the psychological care of client groups to staff and agencies as needed.

* Adhere to clinical governance principles, ensuring effective, ethical practice and considering safeguarding issues. Maintain accountability and report any complaints or concerns about practice.

This role is easily commutable from Bristol, Weston-Super-Mare, Bath, Newport, Cardiff and Gloucester.

Criteria:

* Experience in making highly skilled evaluations and decisions.

* Excellent knowledge to provide expert consultation about the psychological care of the client group to staff and agencies as required.

* Strong Leadership skills with experience in delivering support and training to staff.

* Four years post-doctoral experience in neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology and/or services for older people.
