Talent Masters is conducting a search for an experienced Nursing Home Medical Director who will serve as a pivotal leader responsible for overseeing the medical care provided within our client's skilled nursing facility (SNF).
This role requires a licensed MD or DO with extensive experience in sub-acute and primary care, ideally within a SNF or hospital setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills to lead and supervise mid-level providers, ensuring quality assurance and effective case management. The Medical Director will play a vital role in upholding clinical excellence, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Provide physician leadership and oversight for all clinical practices within the nursing home.
 Collaborate with administrative staff to develop and evaluate care-related policies and procedures.
 Supervise and guide the medical staff, ensuring adherence to quality and safety initiatives.
 Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to enhance patient care.
 Communicate regularly with key decision-makers, including the administrator and director of nursing.
 Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in licensure surveys.
 Monitor physician performance and practice to maintain high standards of care.
 Develop and oversee educational programs for staff, patients, families, and the community.
 Advocate for resident rights and ensure ethical and legal standards are upheld.
Stay informed about industry trends, social, regulatory, and economic factors impacting patient care.
 Promote person-directed care and support initiatives that enhance resident satisfaction and quality of life.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Active state medical license in good standing.
Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics).
Proven experience in sub-acute care, primary care, or geriatric medicine.
Previous SNF or hospital-based medical director experience preferred.
Strong leadership and management skills with experience supervising mid-level providers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
Commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient-centered care.
