Job Title: Yoga Trainer

Location: Extra Care Settings, London

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yoga Trainer to lead yoga sessions within our Extra Care settings. The Yoga Trainer will be responsible for designing and conducting yoga classes tailored to the needs and abilities of older adults residing in our care facilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting physical and mental well-being through yoga and will possess the skills to adapt yoga practices to accommodate varying levels of mobility and health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and deliver yoga sessions for residents in Extra Care settings.

2. Conduct individual assessments to determine residents' fitness levels, mobility, and specific health concerns.

3. Develop customised yoga programs tailored to meet the needs and goals of residents, including those with limited mobility or health conditions such as arthritis or osteoporosis.

4. Lead group yoga classes, focusing on improving flexibility, strength, balance, and overall well-being.

5. Provide clear instructions and demonstrations of yoga poses and modifications as needed.

6. Create a supportive and inclusive environment where residents feel comfortable and empowered to participate in yoga sessions.

7. Monitor and evaluate residents' progress and adjust yoga programs accordingly.

8. Educate residents on the benefits of yoga for physical and mental health.

9. Collaborate with other care staff to ensure the safety and well-being of residents during yoga sessions.

10. Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and progress reports.

Qualifications:

* Certified Yoga Instructor with recognised accreditation.

* Proven experience teaching yoga to older adults or individuals with special needs.

* In-depth knowledge of yoga principles, techniques, and modifications for different populations.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

* Ability to adapt yoga practices to accommodate various physical abilities and health conditions.

* Empathy, patience, and compassion when working with older adults.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

* CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).

* Understanding of safeguarding and health and safety guidelines relevant to care settings.

Working Conditions:

* This position is based within Extra Care settings, requiring mobility and flexibility to conduct yoga sessions in communal areas.

* May involve working evenings or weekends to accommodate residents' schedules.

* Some travel between care facilities may be required.
