Staff Accountant (Healthcare/Nonprofit)

Job Description
The Staff Accountant role supports the Finance Department in the accounting activities and month end closing. 
Prepares month end journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses and credit card transactions.
Maintains fixed asset module and monthly depreciation entries and schedules.  Enters and codes fixed asset purchases.
Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly or quarterly basis.
Verifies and posts all general and donor accounts payable batches to the general ledger daily. Monitors coding of bills for proper allocation to accounts.  Works with Finance staff and outside vendors to resolve payment issues.
Prepares and maintains general ledger account reconciliations, including inter-company transactions.
Prepares monthly bank account reconciliations.
Prepares monthly investment account reconciliations.
Coordinates payments, processes billing and assists with administration of DPH Grant.
Supports the preparation of the annual budget.
Prepares schedules for year end and annual audit.
Processes 1099’s for submission to the vendors, the IRS and state tax authorities.
Provides back-up for all general accounting functions including A/P, A/R and Payroll as required.
Participates in various projects including system implementations and upgrades.
Performs other tasks and projects as requested by the Accounting Manager, Director of Finance and SVP/CFO.

Data Analysis: ability to collect, analyze, and present data to identify patterns, trends, and relationships among variables.
Computer & Application Literacy: proficiency Microsoft Office suite, Learning Management Systems, Slack as well as ability to navigate internet.
