The role
Are you passionate about shaping the future of cloud technology? At Genmab, we are on a mission to revolutionize our engineering community with a robust AWS Cloud platform designed for high-performance computing, cutting-edge infrastructure-as-code, and model-driven operations. We are searching for a Senior AWS Engineer to join our AWS Center of Excellence team. Your expertise will be key in architecting, deploying, and refining our cloud solutions to ensure they are secure, compliant, and optimized for our needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure to support high-level operations for data lakes, analytics, and self-service platforms.
  • Write and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible to deploy custom and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications.
  • Create and manage CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for seamless code integration and deployment.
  • Act as a pivotal technical advisor to our business partners, aiding them in utilizing the cloud platform effectively.
  • Lead and influence our team culture, emphasizing ambition, openness, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of direct experience with AWS infrastructure and services (e.g., EC2, S3, Kinesis, SageMaker).
  • Proven track record with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps practices and tools, especially GitLab, with 3-4 years of experience.
  • Strong background in scripting (Bash, Python) and cloud formation templates.
  • Extensive knowledge of network and security architectures within AWS environments.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in leading and guiding teams, with a knack for mentoring less experienced colleagues.
  • Ability to engage proactively with multiple stakeholders to drive forward project goals.
  • Experience in Agile/SCRUM environments, facilitating rapid development and deployment.
