SEN Teaching Assistants required in Suffolk
Strategy Education SEN team are leading suppliers of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) staff in East Anglia for pupils across all year groups.
We recruit special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) staff for special schools, alternative provisions and pupil referral units (PRU) in Suffolk.
We are looking for several teaching assistants for daily supply and long-term contracts in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury for a May 2024 start.
Job description
You will be working with students with ASC (autism spectrum conditions) or SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) or PMLD (Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties)..
Assisting the class teacher to make sure that all students are able to access the curriculum by differentiating the curriculum to tailor it for each child’s individual needs.
Managing challenging behaviour in a positive way.
Person Specification
Experience of working with students with SEMH, Autism, ADHD and learning difficulties gained within mainstream, special school, alternative provision or PRU.
Some knowledge about a range of interventions and their impact on meeting the needs of children and young people with an EHCP.
The ability to help the teacher deliver creative and innovative lessons to engage the most reluctant of learners.
