The RoleThe Income Tax Analyst will assist with all areas of taxation including federal, state, and local income tax as well as international and indirect taxation. Ensures compliance with all applicable tax laws while minimizing the company's tax liabilities. Maintains high ethical standards and supports the company's reputation for integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares bottle deposit returns monitors account activity.
Monitors regulations in various jurisdictions to ensure the company is compliant with laws.
Completes monthly sales tax reconciliations and follows up on discrepancies.
Prepares VAT and GST calculations for multiple jurisdictions around the world.
Assists with federal, state and local tax audits by gathering/responding to requested information.
Assists with tax provision and allocation under ASC 740 / FIN 48, by updating workpapers, recording book tax differences, and working with outside advisors on information requests.
Performs ongoing review and research of domestic tax laws, court decisions, and administrative pronouncements to ensure the company's compliance and identify opportunities for tax savings.
Assists with special projects to implement tax strategies, reduce worldwide taxes, and/or document and support current tax positions.
Maintains domestic tax account roll forwards for all federal and state accrued and deferred tax accounts.
Responds to tax notices received by state and local authorities.
Assists in preparing domestic and foreign transfer pricing documentation to support arm's-length pricing of intercompany payments for goods and services.
Maintains proper documentation and testing of procedures to ensure adequate internal controls and to satisfy requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404.
Oversee sales tax exemption certificate management
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
One to three years tax experience with a major corporation or CPA firm.
Familiarity with accounting principles and procedures, some knowledge of federal and state income and franchise tax laws.
Microsoft Excel proficient.
Ability to meet deadlines consistently and deal effectively with auditors
Oral/Written communication and presentation skills
Teamwork skills resolving issues in group situations
Proactivity and diligence in self review of deliverables
Ability to succeed in a hybrid environment
