DEPARTMENT: Warehouse Operative
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Team Leader/Manager
SUMMARY: In this position, as a Warehouse Operative you are responsible for the entire process of optimising the flow of goods on site. Initially working generally in the Warehouse and then progressing to Goods Receiving and finally working in the Traffic Control area. The Warehouse is the central distribution centre across Europe so accommodates and supports multiple business operations. The Warehouse is located in Didam, Netherlands easily accessible by road and rail and 1 hour from Amsterdam central.
The day shift typically covers normal business hours of 8 hours a day however overtime working can be expected in this role. Weekend working is rare but can be requested if critical needs.
Job title: Warehouse Operative working across 3 separate business units based in one location
Job purpose: The Warehouse Operative prepares and receives orders as well as moves, stocks, scans and records product inventory. The Operative will help ensure the delivery of products to customers on time. They have contact with suppliers and internal departments across the business. Direct communication with internal Customers is to be expected.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Receiving goods using the ERP system (JD Edwards) from suppliers and productions.
Packaging and repacking (of shipments when necessary).
Making simple assembly work (approx 40% of the job) for one of our business model components
Setting-up and preparing orders for shipment.
Checking and entering incoming goods into the ERP system (JDE).
Using a scanner for incoming goods to upload onto the system.
Report details and issues to the right persons/departments when necessary.
Shipment of return/RMA# to customers.
Activating orders from the ERP system (JDE).
Register shipments with the carriers.
Organizing transport, export documents.
All invoices to check and sign digitally into the server for the finance department.
Follow-in a physical inventory count process (stock count and cycle count).
Role Requirements
Dutch and English language noting English is the preferred company language
Good communication skills both internally and externally
A good sense of planning, co-ordination and accuracy
Flexible and positive minded
Independent, as well as a team player and team spirit
Ability to lift and move heavy loads
Health & Safety - a good understanding and experience with following H&S legislation
Preferred qualifications:
Education and experience at MBO level or equivalent
Basic knowledge of MS Office
Forklift EPT (economic walkie-electric / semi-electric pallet truck) certificate
Working conditions:
