This Electrical Fitter will report to the Lead Project Engineer and will work within Capital Programme and Procurement based in our Eastern Region Office to be discussed . You will be a permanent employee.

You will attract a salary of £37,165 + van + benefits and a bonus of 3%

Job Purpose:

To work as part of a team, carrying out the full range of duties associated with EHV substation installation and construction at voltages between 11kV and 132kV.

Principal Accountabilities:

Installation and testing of all plant and apparatus associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network
Fault location and repair of all plant and apparatus associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network
Manage work undertaken by UK Power Networks contractors
Ensure that all staff for which you will be responsible work to the DSR and to demonstrate a safety culture
Use of appropriate IT equipment
Manage construction / maintenance staff within their working party

Qualifications:

Essential:

The following skills and attributes are important to this role:-

City and Guilds 232 or equivalent
ECS Electrical Installation or equivalent
Work in a team environment
Must have a clean driving licence
Confined space trained
Furseweld and oxy-acetylene gas awareness training
An understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental LegislationPreferred

City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent
SMSTS competence
IOSH Working Safely
MEWP operator licence
Receive Permit To Work and Manage Site Safety (up to 132kV)

Nature and Scope:

You will undertaking play a vital role in the safe completion of the Capital Programme for the LPN or EPN region. You may work at any location within the UK Power Networks EPN area.

You will undertake training with regard to switching on the Primary Network and may receive salary and band progression upon achieving the higher authorisation levels.
