The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the best quality equipment and services for our construction projects. They will be directly involved in managing our supply chain for the sourcing and purchasing of a range of products and services. This includes sourcing and onboarding suppliers, contract drafting, negotiation and managing suppliers through the whole process.
Must be located in and around the Bristol area
Main Responsibilities
* Assess the reliability of sub‐contractors and suppliers prior to onboarding and assist with regular audits of the supply chain.
* Negotiate and agree the most favourable terms possible with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Onboard new suppliers /sub-contractors as and when required.
* Work with a range of suppliers and sub‐contractors to obtain quotations, agree delivery times, and place purchase orders and/or subcontracts.
* Work closely with project teams to forecast spend & costs effectively.
* Ensure project plans are updated to reflect accurate information including delivery dates, milestone payments, Risks & Opportunities.
* Monitor and report on supply chain performance with KPIs and reviews
* Liaise closely with teams at the precontract stage to ensure that accurate project costs are provided.
* Support in identification of potential new suppliers & sub-contractors.
* Support in research of new products / materials and innovations within the marketplace
